If you have a queer event you’d like us to promote, please let us know! We invite you to join us for LGBTQ+ events, like skating, get-togethers in the park, drag shows, queer teen nights, and of course, for Pride in Oneonta! We list gay, lesbian & trangender friendly events in Upstate New York throughout the year which you can find on our events page. We know how important it is to have queer community for support, safety, friendship and a sense of beloning. Our organization started with the goal of brining Gay Pride to Otsego County, and has grown into a thirving queer community that hosts events all year and provides support for queer youth and familes. The Alliance includes, in addition to Otsego County, the queer community and allies in Upstate New York. The dance party starts at 10 pm and lasts till all the dancers are exhausted and ready to go home.At OPA, our aim is to build LGBTQIA+ community in this area. The Center offers the LGBT communities of NYC health and wellness programs arts, entertainment, and cultural events recovery, wellness, parenthood, and family.

Every year has a special theme which determines décor and music selection. Built by Oscar Hammerstein about 100 years ago, this four-levelled venue hosts about 3,000 party-goers. No less famous is Masterbeat-A Saturday night dance party, held in the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom.

It draws tens of thousands of participants and millions of spectators. The parade organizers started a movement of pride festivals all over the country.

One of those protesters was a black trans leader named Marsha P Johnson. It started with the Stonewall riots in 1969. The main highlight of Pride Week is the annual New York City Pride March, surpassed by only the Sao Paulo Gay Pride Parade as the largest in the world. NYC Pride is the first official pride event & pride celebration and is one of the largest Pride Festivals. This Gay Pride Parade is followed by a street festival with live music, drag performances and food vendors. One of the early events is Queens Annual Pride Parade which goes down 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, attracting about 40,000 spectators.
